Permit fees are charged to offset the cost of providing inspection services for your project. Inspection services include both plan review and inspection of work done. Plans are reviewed to make sure that a project complies with applicable codes. Inspection costs will vary depending on the type of project. Inspection costs may be a cost per unit, a flat fee, a cost per $1000 of value or a cost per square foot.
