The 2030 Comprehensive Planning process will be a once-in-a-generation opportunity that will broadly engage residents and apply the City’s best thinking. The resultant effort will bring about future growth that benefits all of us and ensures West Allis’ long-term viability. Throughout the process, the City will seek to bring together the defining aspects of past, current and projected visions of the City into an updated Comprehensive Plan that will guide future decisions. All through 2009, the City will be providing extensive opportunities for people of all backgrounds and ages to imagine how they want the city to look in 2030 and beyond. Ultimately, the Plan will be adopted by the City’s Common Council and will guide public investment, neighborhood redevelopment and private development decisions throughout the entire City. The City has entered into a contract with PDI/GRAEF to assist in the development of this Comprehensive Plan Update. Please be sure to keep in contact with this Web site to learn of the plan’s status and opportunities for involvement. The City of West Allis Common Council has approved creation of a Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee, and Mayor Dan Devine has appointed various members.
