Beloit Road Housing - Independent Living Units Available!The City of West Allis is renewing the waiting list for Beloit Road Housing. This development is located between South 72 Street on West Beloit Road, south to West Dreyer Place. Available units are on the second floor. The building has no elevators. This unit includes two bedrooms, one parking space, and laundry hook-up in basement. Tenant supplies stove and refrigerator. No pets allowed. Prospective tenants must be at least 62 years of age and must meet income qualification. Tenant pays 30% of income in rent, plus utilities.The Housing Office offers a variety of loan and assistance programs. Many are funded by grants. This program is currently closed for new applications as we service our existing waiting list.
Free Home Security ProgramThe Housing Office is using Community Development funds to secure homes in West Allis. In the last several years the City of West Allis has secured over 2,000 homes free of charge. The security measures include deadbolt locks, pipes or burglar bars for basement windows, unbreakable glass over windows of entrance doors, door viewers and first floor window security. There are two ways in which West Allis residents can qualify for this program. The easiest way to qualify is by income. Contact the Crime Prevention Bureau or Community Development Division to find out the current limits for moderate-income levels. If you do not qualify by income and you are 62 years of age or older, you qualify for the senior program. Applications for the home security program can be dropped off at City Hall at the Community Development Division. Once your application has been approved, it is sent to the Crime Prevention Bureau. We will make arrangements to come to your home for a security survey. We make the recommendations and you choose which security devices you want installed in your home. [application] Senior HousingThe Beloit Road Senior Housing Complex offers independent living for residents 62 years of age or older [application] Fair Housing BoardThe Fair Housing Board works to ensure equal housing opportunities for all City of West Allis residents. The Board also promotes throughout the community, including businesses, housing providers, real estate professionals, with awareness programs like the Fair Housing Poster Contest and proactive educational materials.
