Participation in West Allis Senior Center classes and activities requires a current West Allis membership card ($12.00 for West Allis residents, $17.00 for non-residents), a 30-day pass ($32.00) or a 1-day pass ($3.00). Memberships and passes are purchased at the Senior Center.

The West Allis Senior Center's Schedule of Classes and Activities, listed on the City Calendar or the online Senior Center Schedule, is subject to change. More classes may be added or a special event may cause a temporary cancellation. Participants need to provide their own supplies for all of the classes and pay any additional class fees as indicated. Some classes/activities ask for a nominal donation for use of the class equipment. Ongoing classes and activities will continue to accept new participants throughout the year.

Arts and Crafts Classes

Arts and Crafts classes include Knitting and Crocheting, Plastic Canvas and More, Quilting, Acrylic Painting, Japanese Termari, Stained Glass and Crafts. For a complete program listing see the online Senior Center Schedule or the City Calendar.

Computer Classes

Dance

Dance programs include a ballroom dance class, a line dance practice and dance class, and Shall We Dance?, a weekly program providing music for your listening and dancing pleasure. For a complete program listing see the online Senior Center Schedule or the City Calendar.

Fitness, Health and Wellness

Health programs include podiatrist appointments at the Senior Center, Weight Loss Zone support group, walking sessions, and exercise groups. For a complete program listing see the online Senior Center Schedule or the City Calendar.

Fun, Frolic and Friendship

Groups offered for fun and friendship include the Brown Bag Lunch and Movie Matinee, Crimson Chapeaus' Red Hats , Free Bingo for Fun!, Rambling Roses' Red Hats, and the Senior Breakfast Group. Language and Literature

Music Participation and Appreciation

Recreational Activities

The West Allis Senior Center offers Pocket Billiards, a bowling league, and many card playing groups and lessons for all skill levels, including Bridge, Sheepshead, and Pinochle. For a complete program listing see the online Senior Center Schedule or the City Calendar.

Support Groups

Depends on You! AA for the Older Adult: Join us on Thursdays from 2 - 3:15 p.m. (Please note the new meeting day!) ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS® is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other in hopes of solving their common problem. Note you do not have to be a senior center member to attend this weekly support group.

Living Alone: meets monthly on the first Monday of each month at 1:00 pm for anyone who is living alone. This group focuses on programs, services and other ways to make living alone a little bit easier.

You Are Not Alone: Tuesdays from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. This facilitated group is for any older adults who want to remain alcohol and drug free while meeting new friends and becoming more sociable in an alcohol/drug free world. Note you do not need to be a member of the senior center to attend this weekly support group.
