The Landlord Training Program works with rental property owners. Our intent is to form a working relationship with a mission: To educate and inform landlords of all levels so as to reduce; landlord-tenant problems, tenant-neighborhood issues, city code violations, police calls for service, and to inform of city programs available to landlords and their tenants.
Several two-hour courses are offered over several weeks to allow landlords the flexibility to pick and choose which to attend. Topics include: Habitability, Screening of Applicants, Rental Agreements, Role of the Police, Drug and Gang Identifiers, Eviction and Collections, Building and Fire Inspections, City of West Allis Rental Assistance Program, Basic Bookkeeping, On-going Management, and Department of Agriculture Landlord/ Tenant Laws.
In an effort to keep you updated, a Landlord Training Hotline has been established. The recording will supply you with the curriculum to include the subject matter, dates, times, location, and speaker information. The Landlord Training hotline telephone number is (414) 302-8166. The training sessions are free; there is no need to pre-register.
